Good afternoon! I’m finally trying to lounge this flu away after working a half day. Luckily, my fever was down this morning and didn’t start to climb back up until after my final obligation for the day. Given my current condition, I’m really into relaxing tones.

I was planning on doing a neutral palette for today’s tea party because I picked up this beautiful teapot on clearance at Pier 1 on Monday.

Most of my teapot collection is vintage — except for one elephant teapot that’s from the Calypso St. Barth for Target collection — but this Sahara Teapot really caught my eye. It has such elegant lines and coloring and I love that the lid doesn’t have a stem. So today’s neutral palette is inspired by my new teapot and features the color peach!

I love the peach sari. Etsy, it turns out, is swimming with beautiful saris and they seem to range between $18 – $25. That’s not an unaffordable price when you consider how expensive retail scarves seem to be these days.

I can’t get enough of the light pink peach ceramic vase. It’s a gorgeous color and appears to be in great condition.

A Rainy Day Party

We have been having the best rainy weather this week. It rained pretty much non-stop from Monday at noon until last night. Right now it’s not even that cloudy, but we’re supposed to get another round of rain tonight and into tomorrow. I am loving it!

I decided to let myself be inspired by the break from the wonderfully warm spring and celebrate the greys and blues in the air right now.

I also think a rainy day is the perfect time for a cup of tea so I brought back our tea party them with the beautiful vintage turquoise teapot from clementine and nellie. It would be a really nice surprise of color under the fuzzylogicfelt tea cozy that is really beautiful and modern. I love the simple design, the unique shape, and the classic charcoal and white pallette.

I have lots of little favorites in this treasury.  StEphaniDunn’s grey, black, and white fleece bandana blanket is really cozy without being too heavy. The felt flowers from berryisland are a great bright take on robins egg blue — and they look really beautiful paired with the gray and coral vases. All of Kindred Spirit’s throw pillows are beautiful. You should really go check out the shop!

I’ve surely mentioned that I’m seasonally color inspired to a fault and it’s so close to spring that I’m starting to merge out of my greys and neutrals this winter into soft spring pastels. I especially can’t get enough of the super trendy mint!

Today’s treasury is a simple party mood board to coax spring out of hiding for good.

Rather than go for a mint overload, I’ve brightened it up with some buttercups like the chestnut paper origami lampshade which is bordering on my favorite discovery. I also love the say please and thank you napkin, the mint and ivory bracelet and that melamine bicycle plate.

I’m feeling pretty girly today. Maybe it’s because I have the house to myself this weekend so I’m planning on really cleaning it and then enjoying movies, tv shows, and meals I like by myself. Whenever I’m feeling like girly is great, I always lean toward Hollywood Regency styles and gold! Gold? More like gold gold gold and pink.

First, checkout this gorgeous Vintage Sadler Gilded Teapot by deNovoVintage.

Clearly, this party inspiration is starting off on the right foot!

I love it! But what is it about Hollywood Regency that’s so expensive? I think it just looks fancy. I did my best to keep things around $20 and what I couldn’t resist got shoved to the top to set the inspiration for the party. I know it isn’t strictly Hollywood Regency but I think it all looks great together. The detail of the foot in the bottom row is a trash can! You should definitely check it out because it’s maybe my favorite affordable thing in the treasury and it’s only $15. Such a steal!

I live with Kyle, my husband, in Savannah, Mo. in a house we spent this past late summer and fall remodelling. We are in the process of furnishing the place now which means lots of exciting trips to thrift stores, antique malls, and plans for refinishing.

Mary

Hi! I live in a small two bedroom home in Austin, Texas. I believe in vintage, re-purposing, recycling, and making my home comfortable for us and everyone that visits. After grad school, I developed a love for design and giving old furniture a new life. Hope I can take you all along on my journey to rid my house of the "college days" furniture (or at least re-purpose it)! Welcome, and I hope you stay a while!
